Someone stole my identity, what should I do now?

The first thing is immediately pull all 3 credit reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You can get these reports for free from https://www.annualcreditreport.com/

Second thing is, notify and file an identity report with the FTC. You can do this with the FTC website directly, and that's an easy thing to do.

Next thing is, file an identity theft report with your local police or sheriff. Usually you can do this over the phone and it's very easy to do as well.

Lastly, look at the credit reports and see if there are any accounts that are not yours. If there are credit accounts that are not yours, immediately notify Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You can do this over the phone or online.

Also, notify the creditor that it's not your account as well.

If you have any issues with this, we always help with a free consultation with one of our attorneys. Please call Boss Law if you're having issues with identity theft.
