What's the difference between a credit report mistake and negative information on your credit report?
A mistake is information that is not yours or is totally incorrect.
Negative information is information that is y ours but you don't want it on there.
With a mistake, we can have a lawsuit against the credit bureau for not fixing that mistake. And in that lawsuit, we are asking them to give you money, and we ask them to delete the mistake permanently.
With negative information, that's something you can do and use dispute letters to try and dispute with the credit bureaus. Sometimes they will remove it, but oftentimes they don't.
But please, don't pay a credit repair company to do this. You can do it on your own.
